General Election Hustings
The General Election will be held on Thursday 4th July. The churches in Milton Keynes are organising Hustings in the three MK parliamentary constituencies.
Hustings are an election meeting where members of the public can listen to and ask questions of the candidates who are standing for election. We’re organising these as a public service, to support the democratic process, to facilitate public debate and as a contribution to the common good. This opportunity for respectful discussion in a neutral space is often appreciated by candidates as well as voters.
The three Hustings will be held as follows;
Milton Keynes North constituency
Tuesday 18th June, 7.30pm - 9.00pm, refreshments from 7pm
at St Peter & St Paul Church, Newport Pagnell
organised by Churches Together in Newport Pagnell
Buckingham and Bletchley constituency
Sunday 23rd June, 4pm - 5.30pm, followed by refreshments
at Water Eaton Church Centre, Bletchley
organised by St Frideswides Church
Milton Keynes Central constituency
Wednesday 26th June, 8.00pm - 9.30pm, refreshments from 7.30pm
at Christ the Cornerstone, Central MK
organised jointly by Cornerstone and Churches Together in Milton Keynes
We are planning for this Husting to be live streamed - details will be posted on the CTMK website
Please share details of the Hustings widely in your newsletters, mailings, on social media and a mention in notices in church on Sunday is always good!
